Having had over a week now to test the FreeBuds 3 from Huawei, it’s now possible for me to expand further on how impressed I am with these.
First of all, the build quality is superb. The fit and finish on the charging case is excellent and I love the smooth design. Being able to keep the earbuds charged up whilst out and about, knowing they are safe and then ready to deliver audio all the time, is awesome. Whilst on the subject of charging, battery life is great too. Huawei quote up to four hours on a single charge, extended to 20 hours using the charging case. On my three recharges, I managed 3 hours 50 minutes, 4 hours 5 minutes and 3 hours 52 minutes, which is impressive and very close to the figures expected.
The construction of the FreeBuds 3 looks very cool too. They use this bass tube technology, coupled with a Kirin A1 processor and a generously sized 14mm driver. I normally listen to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks, but the audio on these is so good that I have found myself listening to a lot more music. The bass on these is awesome, which can clearly be attributed to their great design and impressive 14mm drivers.
When it comes to design, they look really modern and I have had a few really nice comments whilst wearing them. Alongside this, wearing them outdoors and for longer indoor sessions has been comfortable. There are touch (tap) controls for track control, plus the music or audio will pause when you take them out of your ears.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Huawei FreeBuds 3, they are packed full of features, very easy to connect to your smartphone and deliver on the audio front too.
