Win a Speck SeeThru Case Every Day This Week

**THE GIVEAWAY ELEMENT OF THIS IS NOW CLOSED**

You all know me by now… one of the first things I do when I get a new laptop is to put some sort of case on it. With the elegance of Apple design, it is always nice if I can achieve this without too much bulk being added. For an example of how this can be acheived, check out my review below of the Speck SeeThru Case.

Every day this week I will be randomly selecting one winner, who will get to choose a Speck SeeThru case of their choice from the selection below. This giveaway will run from Monday 30th January 2012 at 1am GMT through to 5th February 2012 at midnight GMT. I will randomly select the winner the following day, with the last winner being announced on the 6th Feb. You can enter as many times as you want, max once per day. Any age is welcome to enter & available worldwide.

All you need to do to enter is copy & paste the message below into a tweet, or click THIS LINK & tweet out the resulting message.

Charity Fundraiser for The Salvation Army

In the run up to Christmas I always find myself looking at the fact that there are so many others more unfortunate than myself. Exploring these feelings is not always easy, but over the past few days I have realised that I could help by putting together a little charity idea.

You have seen some of my chinnanigans on The Geekanoids Channel, yes I am talking about Mario and the more recent Apple Fanboy Christmas Tree. Well, I have come up with an idea to help raise funds for The Salvation Army. More specifically, they help a lot of people during the cold winter months, with hot food, clothing and advice, to keep those struggling safe over this testing time of year. Whilst many of us are in the warm, eating turkey wiith the family, many struggle, are lonely and need a helping hand.

So, what I plan to do… during the second week of December, I will be getting my hair dyed and cut for charity. Of course the hair cut is nothing spectacular, but colouring my hair does freak me out quite a bit. That said, if I can raise some useful funds to go towards hot meals and other things, then great. I will share the results with you all in a video.

How you can help is by clicking the button and donating any amount you can afford. You can make your donation with a debit or credit card, or direct from a PayPal account. I will keep you updated how things progress through the website.

From their website… "The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church and registered charity, working in 124 countries, demonstrating Christian principles through practical support; offering unconditional friendship, and very practical help to people of all ages, backgrounds and needs."

Geekanoids Design Me Competition

This is your chance to show your creative talent!

Here at Geekanoids I run the two YouTube Channels, my Flickr, social networking and of course the website you are reading this article on. This leaves me very little time to get my creative thinking cap on. There are so so many talented people out there and I would expect a lot of my viewers have a great flair for design.

Well, now is the time to shine. Get your creative juices flowing and make me a funky background and avatar. All entries will be displayed on this very website so you can an idea of the competition you are up against.

Design ideas
I really like graffiti and those bright bold neon colours. Simple designs sometimes work best, but that is not to say that something with loads of detail could work too. Hidden gems in the design to do with Apple and technology could also be a winning formula.
I will be adding a photo or graphic of my face into the centre of the design (possibly), so please allow for this in your entry.

What you need to do;
1. Create a graphic at 1920x1080 dimensions, at 72dpi.
2. Crop a similar design from this at 300x300, again 72dpi.
3. Send both designs to geekanoids@gmail.com with the words 'Design Me Competition' in the subject of your email.

That's it, simple!

What you get
If your design is chosen as the winner, it will be used in forthcoming Geekanoids & DailyTechTV videos. Great exposure for you and a chance to show your talent. For the first six videos it appears in you will also get a link in the video description to your website and/or YouTube channel. In addition to this you will also get a BIG shoutout in the competition result video.

Terms
By entering you give Geekanoids the rights to use the graphic in any videos, websites, promotion material forever.
You also give up the rights to use the design in your own media (eg. videos, websites etc).
The work must be your own and not copied from elsewhere, by submitting the entry you are acknowledging that the design is completely original and your own work.
No correspondence will be entered into if your design does not win or is not good enough to be featured alongside other entries. If you don't see it on here, no need to ask ;)
Closing date for competition is 31st March 2011.
