Clove post full details on BlackBerry PlayBook

I wanted to bring your attention to the Clove Technology blog, where you can get some very useful information on the latest tech. Clove actually sell a whole range of smartphones and accessories on their retail website. On the other hand, their blog has a whole host of interesting press releases, tidbits of information and hands-on experiences. Just recently they posted full details from the press release about the forthcoming BlackBerry PlayBook. Check out the article here.

Clove Technology Unveil New Website

Clove Technology have today unveiled a new website. The online mobile technology specialist has replaced the previous site with new and very bold design.

The site retains most of the features of the last site, but has undergone a lot of graphic changes and the underlying engine that powers the retailers page has been improved to enable many more advanced features to be constructed and unveiled over the coming months.

New headline features of the website include a vastly improved on site search engine, a product comparison tool, new checkout process, enhanced customer account features, social network integration and a product rating system.

Chris Love, Managing Director of Clove commented, “We have today unveiled a new website that is the result of lots of hard work over the last few months. We are excited about the new site and the possibilities that it brings us and our customers. The website brings new features to users, but also brings a whole host of advancements in the background which enables us to further roll out some updates over the coming months, to further enhance the functionality of the website.”

The revised design of www.clove.co.uk ties in with the brand refresh that was announced today and will be apparent through all future communications and publications and forms part of Clove’s intention to provide a more consistent and stronger marketing message.

Clove Hands On with the Huawei IDEOS

Clove Technology, a very well respected reseller of smart phones, tablet devices & accessories also run a very useful blog. Full of interesting snippets of news it is well worth checking out. A recent post details the forthcoming Huawei IDEOS Android powered smart phone, which has an amazing feature set and price. The following gives you an idea of what the IDEOS has to offer. For the full article please click here.

Last week I attended an event at which Huawei unveiled the IDEOS.

The IDEOS for those who have yet to hear about it is a Google branded phone running Android 2.2 and comes in at sub £150 (Our exact cost still to be confirmed).

At the event I had a good twenty minute hands on with the device and thought I would jot down a few of my thoughts.  No particular structure here but hopefully you get the idea.

  • Feels solid for something that is less than £150. Of course there is a bit of a plastic feel but the quality is beyond what most would imagine here.  £300 Acer smartphones feel worse than this.
  • Comes in a variety of colours – the black is the most appealing.

Protect your iPhone 4 & Samsung Galaxy S with a GeekPouch

A bit of outright self promotion here, so please excuse me. I make a little bit of money through the Geekanoids Shop that goes toward my running cost. Today I introduced two new Geekpouch's to the store. They are simple cloth pouches, all handmade, sized to fit specific devices. Available in various colours. A black corduroy material, red faux suede and a furry leopard print.

The two new cases for today are for the Apple iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S. Both of these are lovely phones, but at the same time they are expensive pieces of kit, so protect them with a GeekPouch. Prices start at £5.99 delivered for the UK, £10.99 delivered outside the UK. Check them out here.
